Mrs. Gina Richard, Principal of Star City Middle School in the Star City School District, Named Arkansas Association of Middle Level Administrators (AAMLA) Principal of the Year. 

LITTLE ROCK, AR- Gina Richard, Principal of Star City Middle School in the Star City School District, was recently named the 2019 Arkansas Association of Middle Level Administrators 
(AAMLA) Principal of the Year. Dr. Larry Smith, AAEA Program Director, presented Mrs. Richard with the award at her school on April 18th.

This award is given each year to an Arkansas middle level principal who has succeeded in providing high-quality learning opportunities for students and has been acknowledged by peers for exemplary contribution to the profession. 

Mrs. Richard has a total of four (4) years of experience as a principal at Star City Middle School in the Star City School District. Prior to becoming a principal, Mrs. Richard served as an assistant principal in the Star City School District, a STEM Science Specialist through the University of Arkansas system, and a math and science teacher in the Hermitage School District. Gina is involved in several professional organizations and community activities. 

Mrs. Richard is dedicated to the education of Arkansas students and very deserving of this award as is evident in the following statement from Star City Superintendent, Mr. Jon Laffoon: "Gina would add value to any leadership role because she has servant's spirit, models lifelong learning, and understands the value of building relationships."
