Congratulations to Star City Middle School and Star City High School for being recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas as schools where students demonstrated high growth on the ACT Aspire. Not only did SCMS and SCHS rank in the Southeast Arkansas region but on the State level!

The OEP creates an annual report entitled the "Outstanding Educational Performance Awards" where they recognize schools with high student academic growth. This growth is one of the best indicators of the positive impact that you are having on students. Please check out the reports below and note the overall and southeast rankings for growth!

In the Middle School Level report,

Star City Middle received the following awards:
High Overall Growth (Southeast region)  #2 Overall in Southeast Arkansas
High Math Growth (Southeast region) #1 Overall in Southeast Arkansas

In the High School Level report,

Awards are based on the 2023 content growth score calculated by the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education. These growth scores reflect how much students at the school improved from 2022 compared to how much they were expected to grow considering prior achievement. Schools are recognized based on Overall growth, as well as for growth in Math and English and Language Arts separately. To learn more about how the OEP award winners are determined and to see the full list of award recipients, you can view the reports here

Great work by all!
