Star City Community: There was an incident off campus that caused the school to temporarily hold in place. The suspect in question is in custody, and there was never an immediate danger to SCSD students or staff. The situation is all clear and we are back to a normal schedule.
January is School Board Appreciation Month! We want to send out a special thanks to all of our board members. We appreciate their service to SCSD students, staff, and community! #BeTheBest

Congratulations to our band members!

With ice melt and continued heavy rain, flooding is likely along some bus routes. It's hard to predict where flooding may occur but our drivers are using extreme caution. If flooding causes changes to routes we will be in communication. Again, thank you for your understanding.

Bulldogs fall on the road to Crossett 65-53. The Dogs and Ladydogs will play Friday night at home against Stuttgart.#Bethebest

SCSD will be in session Tuesday, January 23rd on a regular schedule. Bus routes will run, but they will have alternate pick-up and drop-off points for roads that are still covered in ice, for both morning and afternoon routes. Students who live on main roads that are clear will be picked up as normal. The attached graphic shows the alternate stops for each route and the approximate pick-up and drop-off time the bus will arrive at that location. Again, this is for any roads along those bus routes that the bus cannot go down. If you do not live on a cleared main road in these areas please make arrangements to meet the bus at the location listed, if you are safely able to do so.
With rain and rising temperatures we expect ice to melt significantly, but some roads may still be hazardous this week. If a student is unable to make it to these stops safely please contact your child's school tomorrow so we can work with you. Please ensure for the afternoon drop-off you are available to receive your student or the bus will have to bring the student back to the school for pick-up by the guardian.
We understand this is not a perfect situation but we ask that you be patient with us as we navigate through this and ensure our student and staff safety. We will work with you and your student on any issues that may arise. Thank you for your support and cooperation. #BeTheBest

We will make a decision on school for tomorrow by 3:00pm today. Thank you for your patience and understanding. #BeTheBest

Monday's 7G,7B,JG,JB games against Crossett will be played as scheduled. #Bethebest
Due to continued hazardous road conditions throughout the district, SCSD will be closed Monday, January 22, 2024. We have taken a close look at roads throughout the county this morning, and it is still too dangerous to safely open school. While main roads and highways are clear, many roads throughout the county that our students and staff live on are still covered with ice at this time. Thank you for your understanding. We will provide updates tomorrow on any further changes. #BeTheBest
