Parents/Guardians and Community,
Below you will find the guidelines that we adhere to from the Arkansas Department of Education in cooperation with the Arkansas Department of Health, that assist us in our decision making as it pertains to COVID-19. There are three response levels based on the amount of cases and school wide spread that we may have which are: Limited, Moderate, and Critical. At this time the Star City School District is in a Limited response, which is very typical during this time in most school districts. Below is a description of what a Limited response means. Information on all responses can be found at this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jQPQmZW-5SvZvxroLFzpFQipzKr9Iu5W/view?usp=sharing
Limited Response: Confirmed case(s) in a school building, but limited spread within the school and/or community, as determined by ADH. At this level, the percentage of staff and students affected will not alter the delivery of district-wide on-site instruction and special services. Leadership should determine whether a grade span, school, department, a single classroom, etc. needs to briefly pivot to remote operations while contact tracing and disinfecting take place. Closing the entire district is not needed at this level of response.
As always the Star City School District takes the safety of its staff and students very seriously. We are strictly following all guidelines set forth by the Arkansas Department of Health and Arkansas Department of Education and are in frequent communication with those entities. I hope this information helps answer your questions and concerns. We understand that this is a difficult and sometimes frustrating time, but we are all in this together and we appreciate your support!
