Star City School District Events for Thursday, December 13, 2018. #WhateverItTakes

An exciting change and improvement to our circle drive process is in the works! In order to provide additional safety for our students at Jimmy Brown Elementary, there will be a change to the car rider pick-up process beginning on Monday, January 7, 2019.
Safety is our most important concern when taking care of our students. On Monday, December 17th, circle drive duty personnel will hand out two (2) circle drive tags for students who are regularly picked up at circle drive in the afternoons. We will ask that parent/guardians sign for the car tags, so we may have record of who has received the car tag. These car tags will be used starting January 7, 2019.
In addition, parents/guardians will no longer be able to park and pick students up as walkers. Students who live within walking distance will be the only walkers. It is in our students best interest to ensure that we create a safe and orderly pick-up process.
ALL car rider students will be picked up in the circle drive. When you come through circle drive, please place your student’s car rider tag on your rearview mirror so circle drive duty personnel can see it.
If you know in advance that someone else will be picking up your student, please give them one of your tags and they will go through circle drive smoothly.
In the event your child is being picked up by someone without a car tag, they will need to park and come into the building to check your child out through the office. Any person without a car tag will need to show a picture ID and be on the checkout list.
As we continue to work to increase student safety at JBE, we appreciate your support and understanding in the changes we are making. Please contact Kari Newton, Pre K-2 Principal, or Jacob Lanehart, 3-5 Principal, at 628-5111 if you have questions or need assistance. #WhateverItTakes
