It is with deep regret that we inform you about a recent loss to our school community. On Thursday, August 15th, 2024, Grady Shanley, a 10th grade student at Star City High School, passed away. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, and our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with them in the difficult days ahead. Grady will be missed greatly by his family, friends, and the entire SCSD community.
This loss is sure to raise many emotions and concerns for our entire school, especially our students. We are offering guidance and counseling services to students and staff as needed. The well-being of our students and staff will remain a top priority as we deal with the emotions surrounding this loss.
Please keep the Shanley family in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days.

Attention - We will have two late bus routes tomorrow afternoon, Tuesday, August 20th. Students riding Bus A and Bus I will depart SCSD campuses around 4:20. These students will arrive home later than normal. If your student rides Bus A or Bus I and you would like to make transportation changes for tomorrow, please reach out to your student(s) building in the morning to communicate that change. Thank you for your patience!
