Message from Athletic Director, Randy Raley:
I want to share a few words that were recently shared with me by Coach Drake Snyder. Drake is a remarkable individual with a deep love for his family, and friends.
On Saturday night, he and Emily were surrounded by an incredible group of people: their coaching family, a doctor, APRN’s, and their children. Each of them displayed unwavering courage and compassion in their care for Emily. The coaching staff at Star City, along with their families and loved ones, share a unique bond. This bond was evident in their selfless actions on Saturday night.
These men and women are truly exceptional. They are a tight-knit group who serve as excellent role models. Their dedication to each other, their students, and the athletes at SCSD is admirable.
Next Friday, and every time the Dogs take the field, let us remember the Snyder family and our coaches and their families. They need our prayers and support. They are truly special people.
Star City, your sons and daughters are in good hands, and I am proud to wear the blue and white with them.

It is with deep sadness that we inform you that Emily Snyder, Jimmy Brown Elementary PE Teacher and Star City High School Tennis Coach, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024. Emily was not just a staff member or a coach, but a personal friend to many of us in this community. The Pearson/Snyder family has always been a pillar in this town who loves Star City Schools and the Bulldogs with everything they have. Emily was an awesome person and educator who loved kids, as evident in her passion and dedication to not only our SCSD students and athletes, but her own children - a love that was unquestionable.
This loss will be sure to raise many emotions, concerns, and questions for our entire school district, staff and students. We will offer guidance and counseling services to anyone who needs it. We will lift each other up and do whatever needs to be done to get through this difficult time together as a Bulldog family.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Drake and the family as our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with them in the difficult days ahead. Emily will be greatly missed by all.
