Cross Country had a great race at El Dorado today. It was a longer course but we had great times. We were a few runners short but we had 2 in the Top 10. Jacob Scott finished 3rd and Gracie Muckleroy finished 10th. Overall we had a great day. Go Dogs

Parents/Guardians and Community,
Below you will find the guidelines that we adhere to from the Arkansas Department of Education in cooperation with the Arkansas Department of Health, that assist us in our decision making as it pertains to COVID-19. There are three response levels based on the amount of cases and school wide spread that we may have which are: Limited, Moderate, and Critical. At this time the Star City School District is in a Limited response, which is very typical during this time in most school districts. Below is a description of what a Limited response means. Information on all responses can be found at this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jQPQmZW-5SvZvxroLFzpFQipzKr9Iu5W/view?usp=sharing
Limited Response: Confirmed case(s) in a school building, but limited spread within the school and/or community, as determined by ADH. At this level, the percentage of staff and students affected will not alter the delivery of district-wide on-site instruction and special services. Leadership should determine whether a grade span, school, department, a single classroom, etc. needs to briefly pivot to remote operations while contact tracing and disinfecting take place. Closing the entire district is not needed at this level of response.
As always the Star City School District takes the safety of its staff and students very seriously. We are strictly following all guidelines set forth by the Arkansas Department of Health and Arkansas Department of Education and are in frequent communication with those entities. I hope this information helps answer your questions and concerns. We understand that this is a difficult and sometimes frustrating time, but we are all in this together and we appreciate your support!

Football Update: Our Senior High football game at Warren scheduled for tomorrow night has been canceled. Additionally, our scheduled game against Hamburg next Friday, October 9th has also been canceled. This only affects the Senior High games. Junior High games are still on as scheduled. For those who purchased tickets for tomorrow night, you may return the ticket stub to the central office tomorrow from 8:00-3:30 for reimbursement. Sorry for any inconvience.

Parents/Guardians and Community,
COVID-19 UPDATE: The Star City School District was notified today that we have individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 at Star City High School. The District’s Point of Contact has determined the Probable Close Contacts at the school (someone who was within 6 feet of the infected person for 15 minutes or more during the infectious period) and has notified those people and/or parents. The District’s Point of Contact has also contacted the Arkansas Department of Health to inform them of these cases, as well as receiving directives for those Probable Close Contacts.
Those who were notified will be under quarantine for 14 days from the last known contact with the individual(s). While quarantining, those individuals will not attend school or any school related activities. However, students in quarantine should continue working digitally in order to keep up with their education through virtual learning.
Due to the number of students on the football team who have been affected, our senior high football game at Warren scheduled for tomorrow night has been canceled. Additionally, our scheduled game against Hamburg next Friday, October 9th has also been canceled.
If you have not been contacted your child is not considered a Probable Close Contact. Please monitor our website and social media for updates as they become available.
