⭐️Exciting News: Pre-K Expansion Project Moves Forward⭐️
Two weeks ago, we proudly shared our vision for a state-of-the-art Pre-K Center in Lincoln County, an inspiring space where every child is given a strong foundation for success in Kindergarten and beyond. The new facility will also include a built-in community storm shelter designed to accommodate up to 800 individuals. Not only will this provide a safe space for all Pre-K and elementary students, but it will also be available to the broader community in times of emergency, a much-needed addition for our area.
Our mission is to create a lasting change by starting where it matters most: early childhood education. Research consistently shows that quality early learning sets the stage for academic achievement, social-emotional development, and lifelong success.
Last night, the SCSD Board voted unanimously to support this vision. Now, we turn to you, our community, to help make it a reality.
In November, we will bring this vision to the voters of Lincoln County with a proposed millage rate of 42.0 mills, reflecting a 5.0 mill increase. If passed, it will be the first increase in more than 20 years. Notably, SCSD currently holds the lowest millage rate in our region, and this thoughtful, long overdue investment will create a facility that truly reflects the needs and values of our families and educators.
